RBIDZ Background
The Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) is a state-owned, legally registered, industrial development company situated in KwaZulu-Natal. It has the responsibility of encouraging international export competitiveness. It achieves this in several ways including tax- and duty-free incentives, providing world-class infrastructure and competitive input costs. The KwaZulu-Natal government is the sole owner of the RBIDZ, reporting to the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DEDTEA) through an accounting authority (Board) that is appointed by the MEC.
Scope of Work and Requirements
The overall objective was to implement a dynamic and responsive CRM System, Automation of One Stop Shop (OSS) business processes and enable integration of the CRM system with the current ERP system, taking full advantage of new functionalities the CRM system for the provision of real time data, designing and provision of report for the decision makers.
The One Stop Shops (OSS) is the focal point of contact in RBIDZ for all investors to coordinate and facilitate the relevant government departments involved in regulatory, registration, permits and licensing.
- Streamlined administrative procedures for issuing business approvals, permits and licenses thus eliminating bottlenecks that investors may face when establishing and in their day to day running of businesses.
Our Recommendation - Microsoft Dynamics 365
We recommended Microsoft Dynamics 365, a cloud solution that would address the above requirements. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Member Engagement platform, is a leading enterprise solution, coupled with the integration of custom / bespoke applications. We also proposed that we deliver the solution on a modular basis so that RIBDZ and its stakeholders can enjoy on-going functionality updates over time
Go-Live Feedback
I am happy to share that we have successfully deployed the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone Microsoft Dynamics CRM Solution into production. Before deploying this solution, RBIDZ used to carry out all daily tasks manually and this created duplication of effort and a lot of human errors brought about by a physical filing system. The manual system lacked tight security controls, resulted in wasted time and increased the costs of producing reports. We would like to thank the functional team for understanding the client’s requirements during the requirements gathering sessions to ensure that the technical team developed a solution that is to the client’s satisfaction. We would also like to thank the technical team for the efforts and dedication they put in for the success of the solution. This is indeed an achievement for both us and the RBIDZ team. The project management team made sure to oversee the management and coordination of the project and tightly monitored activities right till the end of the project. The training team visited the RBIDZ headquarters last week to conduct comprehensive training to the RBIDZ employees to ensure complete understanding and system navigation to their satisfaction. We also issued out the after-training survey and I am confident and proud to say that we received good feedback and the RBIDZ team is comfortable using the system since Go-Live.
